Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was one of two impossible team-ups that happened during the Super NES era (the other being Chrono Trigger, the product of key minds behind Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest). It launched the idea that Mario could lead an RPG, something that's now commonplace with Mario & Luigi, and Paper Mario.

But there was nothing quite like it in the 1990s, so it's little surprise that we had so much interest at RPGFan when it was time to play the game for Retro Encounter. If you haven't heard yet, check out both Retro Encounter Episode 135 and Episode 137 for the goods.
