Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Coming West in Early 2019
But can we still dance ALL night?
06.07.18 - 11:06 AM

When Atlus teased us earlier in the week saying it had two game announcements today, was there any doubt it would be the Persona rhythm game duo? That said, it's still nice to finally see confirmation that Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight are headed our way!

The first such game was 2015's Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and given the equally-awesome music in Persona 3 and Persona 5, seeing both of those games get the rhythm treatment is definitely welcome.

From Atlus' press release this morning:

  • Memorable Soundtrack - Return to the worlds of Persona 3 and Persona 5 and relive cherished memories with the games' most memorable songs by Shoji Meguro, composed by Ryota Kozuka, as well as all-new remixes by ATOLS, Lotus Juice, ☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo / block.fm), Jazztronik, and more! Unlock a total of 25 fan-favorite tracks in each game.
  • Dancing! - Choose from several difficulty levels and dance alongside the members of SEES and the legendary Phantom Thieves in a customizable rhythm game experience. Characters can tear up the dance floor with a partner by performing well during a song and entering "Fever" mode; try out some of your favorite character combinations!
  • English and Japanese Voiceovers - Choose to listen to your favorite characters' voices in either English or Japanese with dual audio options! English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish subtitles are also available.
  • Social - In "Social," players can connect with their favorite characters and deepen their social bonds through conversations and mini-events. Fulfill character-specific conditions to unlock special events and unlock new items.
  • Collect Costumes - Collect and equip a variety of costumes and accessories to create an even flashier dance experience.

Along with this announcement are new screens and debut trailers for both titles:

Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight are coming to both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in early 2019. Yes, come 2019, the Vita will still be getting at least two notable releases. Keep on going, little fella!

Atlus will have both games on display next week at E3, so look for more information then!

Update 6/8/18: Our original version of this story referenced the Japanese title of both games — Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night — but the titles have been changed for Western release, and have been updated above.
