NieR: Automata Official Novelizations are Coming to the West

Good news, NieR fans: Viz Media will be bringing the two official tie-in novels for NieR: Automata to the west within the next year. The first novel, entitled Long Story Short and written by Yoko Taro and Jun Eishima, covers the events of the game, with additional characters' thoughts and other details to further flesh things out. This first volume is currently slated for release on October 9th, 2018.

The second volume, which is currently set for release in Spring 2019, is called Short Story Long, and includes a set of short stories written by Yoko Taro which expand the world of NieR. Two original stories are included with this compilation: "Emil's Recollection" and "YoRHa Ver. 1.05. The remaining stories are ones previously published:

  • "Flames of Prometheus"

  • "Memory Thorn"

  • "A Much Too Silent Sea"

  • "Orbital Bunker Observation Diary

  • "Small Flowers."
