Investigative RPG 'Call of Cthulhu' Launches October 30thA descent into madness is soon coming.07.20.18 - 11:30 PM
Developer Cyanide Studio and publisher Focus Home Interactive have announced that 'Call of Cthulhu', the video game adaption of the acclaimed tabletop game, will be releasing worldwide on October 30th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Players will take on the role of private investigator Edward Pierce as he explores the unsettling and eldritch environments of Darkwater Island, solving the mystery of a murder most strange. True to the experience of tabletop developer Chaosium's pen-and-paper RPG, players will be able to upgrade and learn new skills to stave off both madness and the fear of hand-crafted encounters and mysteries set within the game's setting.
Call of Cthulhu promises to be a single-player experience, with the actions that the player chooses throughout the experience leading to one of the multiple endings present within the narrative. As previously reported, the game will also have twelve confirmed areas for players to explore, presented in a linear fashion, with multiple solutions for players to solve both puzzles and encounters within their unsettling demesnes.
All in all, Call of Cthulhu seems to be a promising adaption, a veritable RPG in its own medium, and a love letter to H.P Lovecraft's tone and work. Personally, where there's Cthulhu, there I be, so I cannot wait to give this a shot come October.
