Slaying monsters and brewing potions.
05.20.19 - 10:34 PM

Welcome back, bold adventurer! While you were away, I've been off gathering rare materials for my latest alchemic masterpiece. It's going to take a little while to prepare, however, so why don't you take a seat and read about some of the latest game releases while I work? Shouldn't be long at all...

Observation Game Screenshot

Observation - May 21st (PS4, Windows)

Ever since 2001: A Space Odyssey, AI in science fiction movies have gotten a bad rep. Devolver Digital and developer No Code's new adventure game Observation flips the script a bit, putting players behind the lens of an artificial intelligence named S.A.M.. Billed as a sci-fi thriller, Observation will show what happened to one Dr. Emma Fisher and her crew from the perspective of their ship's AI. It's definitely an intriguing premise and will be available on PS4 and Windows (via the Epic Store) this Tuesday.

Dauntless Screenshot

Dauntless - May 21st (PS4, XB1, Windows)

It's been a while since we talked about this one. Phoenix Labs' Dauntless entered a period of open beta last year, but the full release is finally happening this week. This game is a promising co-op action RPG that borrows more than a little bit from the popular Monster Hunter franchise. Dauntless will strike out onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs (via the Epic Store) on May 21st.

Atelier Lulua Screenshot

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland - May 21st (North America), May 24th (Europe) (Switch, PS4, Windows)

Just gotta put the finishing touches on this... ah, here we go! Thank you for your patience, adventurer. It's ready now. The latest game in the long-running Atelier franchise from Gust, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, will be making its way Westward on May 21st, releasing on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows PCs. This series has been one of the more reliable JRPG releases in recent years, so hopefully this latest entry continues their streak of quality.

Conglomerate 451 Screenshot

Conglomerate 451 - May 23rd (Windows)

First-person dungeon crawlers have undergone something of a renaissance lately, and in indie gaming circles the cyberpunk genre is evergreen. So the idea of a cyberpunk dungeon crawler seems like the perfect combination, and that's what Conglomerate 451 seeks to provide. From the Italian game studio Runeheads, Conglomerate 451 will enter early access on the 23rd, giving players access to its neon-infused cyberpunk world, classic turn-based combat, and unique Pain and Trauma system.

...good heavens, would you look at the time! I'm sorry, good adventurer, but I must bid you farewell. But please, come back to my humble atelier next week, so that I might regale you with more of the latest game releases. And of course, RPGFan will continue to provide the latest and greatest RPG coverage throughout the week. Until next we meet!
