Coming This Week, 7/1/19
Bringer of darkness, arise. Please? It's way too humid out.
07.01.19 - 2:31 PM

Greetings, dear reader, and welcome to another installment of Coming This Week. The summer season is fully upon us, and with it comes sunshine, humidity, and crippling electric bills. Surely, a warrior of shadow will come in these trying times and bring darkness back to the world, yes? Or do I have to wait until Fall for that? Because I seriously don't think I'm going to make it until August at this rate. Anyways, let's talk about some new video games.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers - July 2nd (Windows, Mac, PS4)

Finally! We talked about Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers' early access launch last week, but the expansion will be fully available this Tuesday. I know a bunch of my RPGFan colleagues are excited to return to the realm of Eorzea (and beyond) to try out the new jobs and playable races available in the 5.0 update. We'll continue to cover Final Fantasy XIV in great detail, but if you missed it, I have to recommend my friend Derek Heemsbergen's excellent write-up of the events immediately preceding Shadowbringers.

Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator Dadrector's Cut - July 2nd (Switch)

From the good folks over at popular YouTube sensation Game Grumps, Dream Daddy came out in 2017 and offered a humor-tinged dating simulator about dads. Now, the "Dadrector's Cut" is set to debut on the Nintendo Switch, bringing even more Dream Daddy goodness to awaiting audiences. Plus, the original version dropped on iOS and Android on June 25th, so that's another way to give the game a shot. Check out our review of the original release if you want to know more!

Clannad Screenshot

Clannad - July 4th (Nintendo Switch)

More visual novel goodness is headed to the Nintendo Switch! Clannad is a beloved romantic adventure game, and will be playable docked or on the go with the Joy-Con controllers attached or separated. Players will be able to experience the game's story in either Japanese or English, further enhancing the experience. If you want a bit more insight, Andrew reviewed the PC version, so give that a read!

And that's all for now, folks! Stay tuned to RPGFan for more RPG coverage, and we'll see you next time.
