Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have released new information about the highly anticipated Pokémon Sword and Shield. This latest update is all about the game's Gigantamax feature, and what Pokémon will be getting these mighty transformations.

First, check out a new trailer below.

Now let's learn more about the newly Gigantamaxed Pokémon:

Pokemon Sword And Shield Gigantamax Pikachu Oh Lord He Coming Chonk

Pokemon Sword And Shield Gigantamax Eevee

Oh lord, he coming! Chunky Pikachu is back, with Pikachu's Gigantamax form bringing back the electric rodent's original portly design. Gigantamax Pikachu can use the special move G-Max Volt Crash, which does damage and paralyzes all opponents.

Meanwhile, the absolute unit that is Gigantamax Eevee has access to G-Max Cuddle, a move which deals damage and infatuates any enemy Pokémon of the opposite gender. In order to get a Pikachu or Eevee with the ability to Gigantamax, players will need to have save data from last year's Let's Go, Pikachu! or Let's Go, Eevee!. Neither of these special Pokémon can evolve.

Pokemon Sword And Shield Gigantamax Charizard

The series mascots aren't the only Pokémon to get a Kaiju-sized overhaul, however. Charizard is also getting in on the action, with an incredible-looking new design. Gigantamax Charizard has access to the deadly G-Max Wildfire, which deals continuous damage to any non-Fire-type Pokémon.

Pokemon Sword And Shield Gigantamax Meowth

Gigantamax Meowth can use its G-Max Gold Rush ability to give the player more money at the end of battle: after all, this big kitty loves shiny things! Players will be able to obtain a Meowth capable of Gigantamaxing via Sword and Shield's Mystery Gift feature, any time between the game's launch and January 15th, 2020. Be aware, like with Pikachu and Eevee, the special Meowth cannot evolve.

Pokemon Sword And Shield Gigantamax Butterfree

The last Pokémon to get a Gigantamax form as of this update is Butterfree. Doesn't it look kind of like Mothra now? Butterfree was always one of my favorite Pokémon, so I'm glad to see it get some love! Gigantamax Butterfree can use G-Max Befuddle to inflict wither poison, paralysis, or sleep onto foes.
