New characters will also be introduced into the franchise, in the form of a young woman named Sophia, with memories lost, and a public safety police officer by the name of Zenkichi Hasegawa. Sophia is someone the Phantom Thieves meet within a different world, with an idealistic goal of being a good neighbor to humans at large. As was the case with all of the main cast of Persona 5, she wields a codename of her own, titled 'Sophie', wielding a yo-yo and a blaster as her core weapons. Little is known about Zenkichi at this point, except that he will feature heavily in the story, and that it is unknown whether he poses a threat or a helping hand to the Phantom Thieves at large.

The location of Shibuya will seemingly play a big part in Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, where a fashion event, held by in-world musician and visual artist Alice Hiiragi, will bring attention to a changed locale from the events of Persona 5. Within the heart of Shibuya itself, in the world beyond the physical, the Shibuya 705 building, a bastion of fashion and avant-garde trends, has turned into a looming castle that towers over the rest of Shibuya. Players will have to brave traps and enemies to enter this castle, during the playtime of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. More visuals for the words above, down below!

Lastly, the action is the name of the game in Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. Players will be able to utilize and play as the full roster of Persona 5, with each character utilizing specific skill-sets and move-lists endemic to their melee abilities within Persona 5 and the Persona's that they wield. Two cast members have been outlined in their playstyles, that of Ryuji and Ann. Ryuji (or Skull) has the ability to charge the magical abilities that his Persona Captain Kidd bestows upon him, allowing him to upgrade the 'Zio' spell for devastation effect, as well as reinforcing his armor to shrug off most blows. Ann (or Panther) focuses on utilizing magic to enhance her whip's basic attacks and wields both fire magic and debuffing skills to keep the enemy weakened and defenseless for the rest of her party.

Gameplay mechanics present within Persona 5 will also be present within Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The "Baton Pass" system will make a return, allowing the player to switch their party members on the fly in real-time battle. All-Out Attacks, the signature finishers, will also make a return, allowing players to defeat enemies and enter the flow of real-time battle with little to no stopping of the action at large. As it stands, it seems Omega Force is staying true to the mix of what Persona 5 brought mechanically to the table, while brewing an action-orientated spin that works for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers at large.
