Coming This Week, 11/11/19

It's LOBSTAH time, all!

11.11.19 - 8:17 PM

Hi and welcome to this week's releases! November is here, the SaGa of RPGs moves ever onward, and we've got a nice little range of games to present this time around. There are installments in long-running series coming to the West (hmm, I wonder which one), as well as new chapters in beloved franchises. There might even be some interesting indie releases as well. Get comfy, and let's get ready to meet some interesting characters.

Romancing SaGa 3 Screenshot - Battle time with Boston!

Romancing SaGa 3 - November 11th (Windows, Switch, PS4, XB1, iOS, Android, PS Vita)

Romancing SaGa 3 was announced at E3 2019 (Scarlet Grace Ambitions on December 3rd too, please), and it's been a ride waiting for it to arrive. But it's finally here! Western audiences can enjoy the beautiful watercolor art and fascinating character designs/spritework on a variety of platforms...today! Fun fact: This Nov. 11th release is exactly 24 years to the day after the original release of the game. Also, yes, the Vita version is still an option here in the US. VIVA LA VITA!

Sparklite Screenshot - Good to know who's steering this hot air balloon

Sparklite - November 14th (PS4, Switch, XB1, Windows)

For those looking for a Zelda-like adventure, we have Sparklite coming to you on the 14th. It looks to be pretty charming, with music by Dale North. Really, this game looks perfect for anyone who wants to spend time as an RPG inventor. Get out your models and sketching materials, and we'll have a review soon to help guide the process. Gotta stop that Baron (I see what you did there) Mining Corp from ruining the land, after all.

Labyrinth of the Witch Screenshot - Who is this adorable friend?

Labyrinth of the Witch - November 14th (Switch)

No, it's not Labyrinth of Refrain (even with "coven" in that one's title). It's Labyrinth of the Witch: an adorable action RPG with plenty of roguelike dungeon crawling to be had. Labyrinth of the Witch takes a simple, easy to play approach to its mechanics, so it may be a good one to pick up for when you have short bursts of time. Nice to have it in a non-mobile format, too. There's more information on Nintendo's site.

Pokémon Sword & Shield Screenshot - Pretty ponies and menacing birds

Pokémon Sword & Shield - November 15th (Switch)

Galarian Ponyta for life. Yamper and Sirfetch'd for life. You know, I'll just take these games now please. The wait for the latest duo of Pokémon games will finally be over on Friday, and it should be an exciting time, especially since you can enjoy Dynamaxing and making curry with your Pokémon pals. Whether you go with offense (Sword) or defense (Shield), stay tuned to RPGFan for more Pokémon fun, as many of us are planning on trying this one out.

That's what we have this time! Hope everyone found something interesting in this week's offerings. Now that I've managed to include a parenthetical for every game, I think it's time I take a break from reporting on upcoming games and actually go play something. Keep an eye on RPGFan for updates and the latest in the RPG sphere.
