Atlus has revealed further information on Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, detailing The Protagonist and Sophia, a new character unique to Person 5 Scramble. Check out their bios and some snazzy new media below!
A third-year high school student recently moved to Tokyo. The young man awakened to his Persona abilities after witnessing a string of incidents involving mental breakdowns. He formed the Phantom Thieves of Hearts with his friends to reform the corrupted hearts of problematic adults and skewered a major case of conspiracy to vaunted resolution. Once the case was complete, he returned home but has since returned to Yongen-Jaya, Tokyo for the summer holidays.
The Protagonist is the bread-and-butter of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, showcasing all-round combat prowess and a veritable suite of attack skills. Wielding his codename of Joker, he unleashes attacks with high mobility and attack power, wielding his signature dagger to great effect. His ability to deal with any situation with specifics moves is his greatest asset.
The Protagonist wields his initial persona, known as Arsene, specializing in Curse-type skills, and area-of-effect abilities that sweep up opponents willy nilly. Alongside the power of Arsene, Joker is the only party member with the ability to switch out Personas at will, allowing him and the player to capitalize on the weaknesses of enemies with ease.
Replete with mystery, this young girl encounters The Protagonist and his friends within the other world within Shibuya. Lacking memories, Sophia seeks to fulfill her goal of 'being a good friend to humans'. Whilst aloof and goofy, she works hard with The Protagonist to fulfill her goal, utilizing Shadows in the guise of Personas, to support all.
Sophia uses the power of combo and rhythm to take down crowds of enemies.
Wielding her code name of Sophie, the outfit she wears changes in battle, becoming armor, as she wields yo-yos to devastating effect on the enemies that oppose her.
Sophie fights with floating objects known as Pithos, similar to Persona. Her abilities run the vein of Bless-type Skills, supporting party members with healing and debuffing enemies in dual measure.
Lastly, we have a new trailer for Persona 5 Scramble, this time focused on Ryuji.
As it stands, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is looking to be a fully-fledged sequel to its JRPG predecessor, with replete action and Persona battling in spades.
Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is set to release in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on February 20th, 2020. No word on a Western release date has been announced as of yet.
