NIS America has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Langrisser I and II remake, showcasing the updated visuals, user interface and character artwork juxtaposed against the original versions, released in 1991 and 1994 within Japan, primarily, upon the Sega Mega Drive console. Check it out below!
Arguably a progenitor of the strategy-RPG genre, Langrisser I and II seeks to update these classic titles for a modern audience. Both titles revolve around the mystique, power, and legend of Langrisser, a powerful sword known to imbue its wielder with ancient and unending power. Langrisser I showcases a story about a young man named Ledin, scion and last son of house Baldea, sworn to avenge his father and defeat the Dalsis Empire, to regain his honor and the power of Langrisser once again. Langrisser II wends a narrative about the long-standing effects of time, and the power of myth, the Langrisser, faded into legend, and a young traveler name Elwin whose destiny will eventually change.
The remake itself will launch on March 10th in North America, March 13th in Europe, and March 20th in Australia and New Zealand for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC systems, via the Steam store.
