Publisher Wild River Games and developer Random Potion have announced the release of The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes, an action RPG in the vein of Baldur's Gate or the Icewind Dale series set in The Dark Eye tabletop universe. Check out the launch trailer below!
Players will journey across the land of Aventuria, the longstanding setting of the aforementioned The Dark Eye universe, established in 1984, as members of an adventuring party replete with customisation and classes endemic to the genre. Twelve class options will be available alongside four racial options with specific quests, items and interactions dependent on what players choose to embody. Alongside gameplay customisation, The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes also sets itself firmly in party-based roleplay of a different sort, allowing players to play solo or with three other friends via online or local connections.
Marc Wardenga, CEO of Wild River Games, said that the publisher was "...incredibly pleased to launch Book of Heroes and bring the excellent The Dark Eye license to life digitally." He also stated that Random Potion, the developer of The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes, "...has worked hard to recreate the joy of playing it (The Dark Eye) on the tabletop on PC."
