J-Pop trio "Mi" performed the opening and ending themes for Shining Force EXA. The songs were released, along with some B-sides, on this single.
The first track, "World's Love" ... what can I say? I like it; it's got good energy and a classic rock beat. Some may complain that it's a little too typical of radio-friendly pop/rock, at least as far as Japanese artists go. But I could handle it.
The ending theme, "same sky," is more of a pop ballad than a rock song, even though it sports an electric guitar solo. Though I generally like softer songs, I think I actually prefer the opening theme to this piece.
The third track seems to be some sort of weird inside-joke recurring track among their singles. It was just...weird. And stupid.
Overall: I'd save your money, unless you need an extra kick in the pants to get movin' in the morning. Sugar-coated Japanese pop/rock groups can be a little overwhelming, but I had fun with these songs.
