"Yume de Aru youni" (To Be A Dream) is used for the opening to Tales of Destiny in Japan, though Namco omitted the song in the domestic release. The song is by J-Pop artist DEEN, and this single includes the B-Side song, "Umi ga Mieru Machi ~Indigo Days~." As usual with most of these singles, there are also karaoke versions of both songs.

"Yume de Aru youni" is a good song with no real faults, but there were no real strengths either. I enjoy the upbeat melody, but at the same time, it feels a little bit plain. I did find the male vocalist to be good. He didn't make the song too interesting, but it was a pleasant listen. I doubt this song will stick to me in the long run, but it was a fun listen while it lasted.

Like "Yume de Aru youni," "Umi ga Mieru Machi ~Indigo Days~" does not have any noticeable strengths or weaknesses, but I find it more enjoyable. I thought the melody was very good, using guitars to give off a strong, dreamlike feel. It's further enhanced by the pleasant vocalist, and it's a perfect match with this style of song. I've never listened to DEEN's other songs, so I do not know the artist's primary style, but they are quite good with these easygoing songs, even if they didn't get me hooked.

Overall, I liked DEEN's single. They didn't win me over, but it was a refreshing experience after hearing many other J-Pop tunes. The melodies were easygoing and the vocalist had a very pleasant voice. I would not consider it a must-have single, but do check it out if, by chance, you see it around in some used store.
