Sheet music from the soundtrack manual, the melody to the original Wild ARMs theme.

I bought this soundtrack to prove to myself that I could enjoy VG Music without having played the game ahead of time. Either I really could do that, or this is one gosh darn special exception to the rule. I really really like this soundtrack. Let's get something straight first, though. This CD, while still retaining the high-noon Western "take 3 steps and draw" feel, it doesn't keep it nearly as strong as the first soundtrack. This soundtrack mixes the western with a very Lunar-ish sound, and then the occasional other stuff. There are many vocal tracks on this CD, and these tracks are purely outstanding (Except for Zephyrs's, I really don't like it all that much). "Resistance Line" is a great song, and I'm very excited that it's an extended version (4 minutes!).

There is one little problem with this soundtrack, and that is the monument of inefficiency known as Disc 1. This thing has 75 tracks, each one averaging like 50 seconds. What's more, many of those 50 second tracks ARE repeated once, meaning that many songs are only 25 seconds long. However, with a track list of over 100, that doesn't matter because there is such variety in the songs. The problem is when you want to listen to the last 4 tracks and you have to hit a button 71 times to hear it. That's about all for Disc 1. Disc 2, on the other hand, it GREAT! Why, you ask? 3 special little tracks. 26, 28, and 31. These things range from 7 to 15 minutes each, and they combine many songs together to make an amazing track. Track 31 is FULLY ORCHESTRATED, and entirely defeats the need for any sort of Arranged soundtrack. Overall this soundtrack is amazing. It may not sound THE SAME as the first OST, but this one creates an amazing new feeling that I really like.

If I had to rate it, it'd get a 93%. You can find this soundtrack at Game Music Online or at Anime Nation, for about $36.
