Classic Ys songs in another arrange album? Of course. You should expect nothing less from Falcom.
However, what you're getting here is ultimately a dumbed-down alternative to the excellent "Perfect Collection" arrangements. Limited to the MIDI sound source, Sound Team JDK is forced to come up with alternative novelty to keep the songs fresh. And for the most part, this album uses tempo change and pitch range variation to achieve the desired effect. "Feena" gets faster, "A Premonition =Styx=" has its melody performed in higher octaves, and nearly every song has loads of synth percussion to keep the beat front and center in your mind.
The SC-88 arrangements are decent additions. I especially appreciated "Field of Gale" from Ys V. These are definitely the tracks you want to focus on. But, then again, there is a full "Falcom SC-88 MIDI Collection" album that would trump this album in terms of value, if you're into the SC-88 sound.
I hereby relegate this album to "low priority" for Falcom collectors. Only completionists should go after it. There are far better arrangements from Falcom that you can find, for less money, in this day and age. So do that, and if you still hunger for more, maybe look into this album.
