G'day! My name is Craig and I am one of the social media editors at RPGFan based in Sydney, Australia.
I am a long-time player of the RPG genre, starting all the way back in the early 90s with the original Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Being the youngest of four, I grew up being deeply exposed to all the games, comics, and manga of the 80s, which I can say has had a major influence on my gaming experience, interests, and profession.
As I grew older I found myself playing as many RPG (especially JRPG) titles as I could. I was also writing lyrics for my friends' band and was all round being a teenager — with all the tropes. At the time I found my interests spanning into film and animation — specifically resonating with classic Japanese film and storytelling. This led to my acquiring my Degree in Television & Film Production at JMC Academy, Sydney. In relation to film and TV media, the opening car chase scene of Castle of Cagliostro and the graphic novel and film AKIRA had the biggest impact on my passion for Japanese film and animation, and storytelling in general.
After my studies, I have worked heavily in broadcast television as a Digital Producer which involves heavy hours and lots of video content and copywriting.
The game that has had the deepest impact on me was A Link to the Past — a timeless classic that spurred my love for the genre.
