Like many others, my interest in gaming stretches back to childhood, with my older brother introducing me to many of the games and game franchises that to this day remain my favorites. In particular, it was when he introduced me to Baldur's Gate 2 (and a year or so later when I was mentally developed enough to understand the rules) that I realised my particular appreciation for the RPG genre, which has unhealthily festered and grown ever since.

My interest in music also stretches back to childhood and although (for some reason) I never managed to connect the two together, I've always been aware of how music has the power to make or break a game (or particular moments in games). This is especially true with RPGs where there are many different processes going on that need to complement one another, and where many different atmospheres and emotions need to be adequately conveyed. Because of these demands on the composer, these soundtracks have always seemed to be uniquely enjoyable outside of the specific context of the game.

My current working conditions permit me to listen to music for a good portion of the day, most of which comes from RPG soundtracks. So in an effort to engage with the wider world I figured that I might as well do something constructive with all of that musical immersion in a way that (hopefully) makes a positive contribution to the wider RPG community.
