Social Media Editor
My name is Nilson Thomas Carroll and I am a social media editor with RPGFan.

I cite EarthBound as teaching me how to read as a kid when it first came out. I've had tonal issues in my writing ever since, so sorry in advance...! My essays for the GRE were just clumps of NPC dialogue from Final Fantasy VII.

JRPGs are fascinating to me because they represent these entire, minimal, thoughtful little worlds, worlds where people go grocery shopping, listen to the radio, and wait in line for the bathroom. JRPGs on the original Game Boy are especially minimal, and the Game Boy aesthetic is probably my favorite (the Final Fantasy Legend games exemplify this perfectly).

I studied playwriting and printmaking in college, have written full length screenplays, done performance art, and taught poetry, but my true passion is making dreamy RPG Maker games and writing about video games. I'm an ardent defender of video game dialogue, Call of Duty, modern art, hip-hop, RPG Maker, reality tv, and fast food.

Email me if you ever want to chat about weird games, classical music, Godard, or modern painting...!
