My first experience with RPGs began when I was six. It was Christmas and my dad had bought me Pokémon Blue as a Christmas gift. Immediately, I was drawn into this other world. I spent countless hours capturing my favorite Pokémon and training them to be the best they can be.
Being immersed in a game is something I will never find tiresome. Each time I play a new game, I anticipate what world is waiting for me, what story is about to unfold, and what characters are waiting for me throughout my virtual journey.
This genre is my form of escapism from the world. It teaches me valuable lessons that I can later apply in life. If I were to compare an RPG to something, it would be that one friend that constantly reminds you to never give up in life, to overcome obstacles, and to remind you of the inner strength you possess.
In addition to RPGs, I also love racing games. I can't tell you how many hours I have played Mario Kart 64 as a child. I love the adrenaline it gives me when I am neck-to-neck with an opponent. I am also a big fan of party games. Every day after school, my friends would come over and we would play Mario Party 2. It was fun being able to connect with others through video games.
Aside from playing video games, I love learning different languages. So far, I'm fluent in three languages. I'm currently picking up a fourth one but I'm having trouble finding some time for it. I also love writing prose. To challenge myself, I pick a word each day and write something that captures the meaning of the word. I am also a conceptual photographer. I love illustrating ideas through film.
I am also a pretty active blogger. The things I blog about are more personal in nature ranging from topics about mental illness to self-worth. I constantly strive to make personal connections with others through my writing and I sincerely hope it comes through my reviews on here as well.
