Larian Studios has announced that the long-awaited* Baldur’s Gate III is most likely coming to Early Access this August. Like other developers, Larian has had to adapt to working from home, so they caution that August is a “maybe,” but also that if their setup continues to work as planned, they’re going to do their best to hit that date.

Alongside this news, the studio has released several new screenshots and a brand-new trailer that shows a marked improvement in visual fidelity and gameplay refinements they have brought to the game already, even before Early Access begins. See some of the screens on our game page, along with the new trailer:

Larian will also be showing more Baldur’s Gate III next week, when D&D Live kicks off on June 18th, so we will have more to share then!

*Yes, BGIII was announced in 2019, but Baldur’s Gate II originally released almost 20 years ago!
