New Kingdom Hearts Mobile Game, “Project Xehanort,” Is In the Works

With Kingdom Hearts III bring the Dark Seeker saga to a close, many fans assumed that we had seen the last of wrinky old Master Xehanort. It turns out, maybe not so much: Square Enix has announced a new free-to-play mobile game in the Kingdom Hearts series codenamed “Project Xehanort,” which will contain in-app purchases and will launch in Spring 2020. The game’s tagline is, “Why did he become the Seeker of Darkness?” Given the Kingdom Hearts series’ track record, this mobile game will likely contain some critical plot details for future mainline entries, so… y’know. Bookmark your favorite YouTuber or something.

Square Enix is also holding a competition via the new Project Xehanort Twitter account, wherein fans can try and guess the real name of the mystery title in order to win prizes. According to series creator Tetsuya Nomura, there’s more Kingdom Hearts goodness on the way, so stay tuned to RPGFan for more info!
