Square Enix has released a massive new batch of screenshots to sate our ravenous appetite for more Final Fantasy VII Remake news. These new images show off more of the Turks, Don Corneo, the Honeybee Inn, and much more. Check out some highlights below, and keep an eye out for more Final Fantasy VII Remake coverage from us as we approach the game’s April 10th release date!
First up, we have a couple of familiar faces. In the first image is Tseng, the leader of the Turks, an elite group of Shinra enforcers. The second picture is Don Corneo, the lecherous ruler of Wall Market.
Next up is Andrea Rhodea, the owner of the Honeybee Inn who has the authority to approve women for Don Corneo’s… “auditions.” He is a skilled dancer and rigorously trains both his mind and his body.
Next is Leslie Kyle. Doesn’t he kind of look like Riku from Kingdom Hearts? Anyway, this apathetic and “dead-eyed” young chap works for Don Corneo and evidently has the heart of “an old curmudgeon,” despite his apparent youth.
Madame M, pictured above, runs a hand-massage parlor in Wall Market. She carries a great deal of influence, and like Andrea is able to approve women for the Don. She is prideful, however, and her service doesn’t come cheap.
Next up, we have Chocobo Sam! This cowboy hat-wearing gentlemen runs a delivery service, and is an avid gambler. Like Madame M and Andrea, he is a prominent Wall Market figure who can grant approval for Don Corneo’s auditions. It sounds like the quest to infiltrate Don Corneo’s den of depravity might be a lot more elaborate in the Remake!
Speaking of which, check out Tifa, Aerith, and Cloud in their outfits for the audition! Looking good there, guy and gals. Each character will have multiple costumes, as well!
As a brief aside, let’s talk about how Barret operates in combat. Barret is a long ranged fighter with his gun arm: players can hold down the Square button to continuously fire. Pressing Triangle will unlease Barret’s “Overcharge” attack, which is more powerful and will help to fill his ATB gauge. From there, Barret can use some devastating abilities, including Focused Shot and Lifesaver, the latter of which lets Barret share his HP with allies.
Also, there’s Leviathan! The sea-serpent summon has been a staple of past Final Fantasy games. He’s looking pretty sharp here.
