Black Book Kickstarter Campaign Launches May 5th

Immerse yourself in a world of Slavic mythology with Black Book, a tactical card-based RPG inspired by games like The Witcher, Slay the Spire and SteamWorld Quest. The game features a hand-drawn art style and interactive narrative. Russian studio Morteshka will seek crowdfunding for the project on Kickstarter starting May 5th.

The game follows the tale of a young girl named Vasilisa as she seeks out the demonic Black Book, a relic said to have the power to grant any wish to one person who can uncover each of the book’s seven seals. As Vasilisa, players use her new powers to solve the problems of the common folk across the rural countryside by confronting demons and performing exorcisms.

Black Book is a card-based, deck building RPG in an adventure setting. The game features turn-based combat. As players hunt for the seals of the Black Book, they will collect cards to create unique spells. The cards impact how each battle unfolds, with companion characters and demon recruits adding another layer of strategy.

Developers say the finished game will be available on Playstation 4, XBox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. Morteshka is the indie studio responsible for The Mooseman, a game released in 2017 on PC. Keep an eye out for more coverage of Black Book from RPGFan!
