Trio of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai Games Announced for Various Platforms

The Dragon Quest series expands across innumerable forms of media in its native Japan, so it’s perhaps no surprise that the franchises’ successful manga adaptation, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, is getting its own set of spin-offs. In addition to an anime version, The Adventure of Dai is getting three video games, all of which will be released in Japan starting this fall thanks to collaborations between Square Enix and other developers.

Perhaps most exciting is a full-on console action RPG, titled Infinity Strash – Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. This console game is set for release in 2021 for unspecified platforms. It is a game where the player can freely control characters from the manga series.

Check out the trailer for Infinity Strash below.

Next up is Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai – Xross Blade, co-developed with Takara Tomy (or T-ARTS). This game uses a card battle system and will release in Japanese arcades this fall, alongside a bevy of physical merchandise such as a card album. It’s kind of like that one Dragon Ball game, from the look of it? Here’s a trailer.

Lastly, we have Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai – Tamashii no Kizuna (which translates to “Bond of Souls”). This is an “exhilarating dash RPG,” whatever that means, for iOS and Android being developed with DeNA (who also continue to maintain other Square Enix mobile titles such as Final Fantasy Record Keeper). According to Square Enix, the game has a simple, but deep, combat system.

We can expect more information from Square Enix on all three Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai games in the near future, so stay tuned to RPGFan for more coverage!
