This morning, CD Projekt Red unveiled more of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, with a new trailer and the surprise announcement of a tie-in animated series. First up, let’s watch the new trailer, which delves into Night City and the origins of our protagonist, V (no, not the Timothée Chalamet look-a-like from Devil May Cry 5).

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, Studio Trigger is set to create a ten-episode anime series based on the property. Titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the series will premiere on Netflix in 2022, and is absolutely loaded with talent working behind the scenes: Hiroyuki Imaishi (of Gurren Lagaan, Kill la Kill, and Promare fame) will be directing the series, alongside assistant director Masahiko Otsuka (who is working on the adapted screenplay alongside Yoshiki Usa) and creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi. The character designs for the show are from Yoh Yoshinari and Yuto Kaneko, who both worked on Little Witch Academia. Lastly, none other than Silent Hill’s Akira Yamaoka will be composing the series’ score.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch for PC, PS4, and XB1 on November 19th, 2020. The game will also be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, with a free upgrade to the next-gen version being made available at a later date for those who bought the current-gen release.
