Marvel’s Avengers “War Room” Presentation Sheds More Light on The Game

Square Enix recently held a “War Room” broadcast for their upcoming superhero game, Marvel’s Avengers, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. There’s a lot of new gameplay footage, screenshots, and artwork from the show, but let’s cover some highlights.

First is a new trailer, focused on the deadly threat of MODOK.

Next up, we have a lengthy gameplay video that shows off The Mighty Thor in action. While Chris Hemsworth may be nowhere in sight, the Crystal Dynamics version of the character is no slouch!

In Marvel’s Avengers, players will be able to customize their heroes with different gear and skills, modifying their playstyle while staying true to each character’s roots. New signature move sets, Intrinsic abilities, and heroic moves can be unlocked over the course of the game. Square Enix hopes to support the game after launch with new heroes and story arcs at no additional cost.

Marvel’s Avengers will feature “War Zones,” team-based missions that can be played with a party of AI-controlled characters or as cooperative multiplayer. These missions scale based on player level and team size, making sure the experience is fair for all involved.

Marvel’s Avengers will launch for PS4, XB1, Stadia, and PC on September 4th. The game will also be available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X when they launch this holiday season, and will support cross-generation play, as well as having the option to upgrade at no additional cost to the next-gen version for any player who owns the current-gen version.
