If you are in Japan, you will soon get a taste of the mobile incarnation of the NieR series! Starting July 29th and lasting until August 5th, a closed beta will be available for NieR Re[in]carnation!

Watch the premiere trailer for NieR Re[in]carnation below:

Japanese players can pre-register now until July 26th. However, only 20,000 users will be accepted. If the amount of applicants surpasses 20,000, users will be determined by lottery.

Here is a description of the game, translated by Gematsu:

A girl wakes up on a cold stone floor. A vast space with rows of towering structures.
Guided by a mysterious creature that calls itself “Mama,” the girl begins to walk atop the stone pavement. To reclaim what she lost, and to atone for her sins.
Inside a “Cage” built in some unfathomable way by who knows who.

The game focuses on a nameless girl in white who woke up in the “Cage.” Despite her being kind and bright-spirited, she has no recollection why she has a choker and covered in bandages. Nightmares haunt her dreams.

To guide her through the “Cage” is Mama. This mysterious creature doesn’t take itself too seriously, toying with items in the environment or taking time to sight-see.

However, Mama isn’t the only mysterious creature in the “Cage.” The Dark Monster looks like a hybrid of a knight and a quiet insect.

NieR Re[in]carnation is being developed for Android and iOS devices. A release date hasn’t been revealed for other territories, but stay tuned to RPGFan as we learn more!
