It was only just a few days ago that Australia Classification accidentally pseudo-announced Atelier Ryza 2 by giving the game an official age rating. Naturally, Atelier fans were excited, but there’s always a degree of anxiousness involved when this sort of thing happens. Anxiousness for an official announcement; anxiousness for a trailer; anxiousness for a release window. And now, courtesy of today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partners Showcase, we’ve got all three.

The game looks gorgeous, showcasing developer Gust’s increasing graphical prowess. Koei Tecmo is publishing this sequel to last year’s Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & The Secret Hideout, with an eye toward a simultaneous release on PS4, Switch, and PC sometime this winter.

The game’s been given a teaser site with a countdown to new information on July 29th. We’ll be sure to uncover these latest secrets when that happens, so keep tabs on RPGFan in the meantime.

Hot off the press, here’s a brief overview of Atelier Ryza 2 courtesy of Koei Tecmo:

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is a direct sequel to the best-selling Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, a worldwide smash hit that has already shipped over 420,000 copies to date. In this latest entry in the Atelier series, Ryza makes her triumphant return as the protagonist, making franchise history as the first character to take on the hero role in two successive titles.

The new game was first revealed during July’s Nintendo Direct Mini, giving fans their first glimpse into Ryza’s upcoming quest. The game’s teaser site also went live during the official reveal, with more details and the official website launch set to go live July 29, 2020.
