Barony, which launched on Steam at the tail end of last year, has enjoyed a following of passionate fans for its unique blend of class-based classic dungeon-crawling and (the comparison is inevitable) Minecraft-esque visuals. With two DLCs already under its belt and more to follow, the modestly-priced indie RPG is heading to Epic Games Store this Thursday. To celebrate its imminent launch, Epic Games will be offering the game for free for its first week on the market. In a bid to simultaneously attract customers to its own service, Steam will match that by providing free copies this weekend.

Both of Barony‘s DLCs, Myths & Outcasts and Legends & Pariahs, retail for a mere $3.99 apiece. Based on recent Steam reviews, the DLCs have been largely well-received, which means for a limited time only, you’ll be able to swoop up the base game and plenty of added content for a total of eight bucks.

For those of us who veer more toward the console side of the gaming spectrum, Turning Wheel LLC will soon fire up a Kickstarter campaign in a bid to bring Barony to the Nintendo Switch. In the meantime, you can watch a video below about the game’s newest feature, a helpful tutorial mode called “Hall of Trials.”
