Although smart money was always on the eventual overseas release of any major spinoff from a game as globally successful as Persona 5, it’s still nice to see it finally confirmed. And confirmed it is, thanks to a financial report from Koei Tecmo. On July 27th, the publisher released statements on Q1 2021, which means May, June, and July of 2020, because business dates are just kind of funky like that.
Included during the presentation were several slides devoted to the development and planned release of future titles. Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikes made it onto the list, noting “the West” as the target region. This makes sense, of course, given that the game has been out since February in Japan. It’s kind of a long wait, especially since we still lack a narrower release window, but even Persona 5: The Royal took five months to get here. Western fans of Shin Megami Tensei are no strangers to lag.
