Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the only game based on a tabletop RPG set for this year! Developed by Different Tales, creators of Wanderlust: Travel Stories and composed of former developers behind the first The Witcher, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest is a narrative-driven adventure game set for PC later this year.

You can watch the premiere trailer for Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest below:

The beautiful imagery, inspired by Dave McKean’s art for The Sandman graphic novel cover art, mixes with the game’s representation of “traditional pen-and-paper role-playing mechanics.” The game follows a young woman named Maia as she goes on a quest to learn about her family’s past. Along the way, she wanders into Białowieża Forest, a real-world place in Poland that is full of mystery and legends!

Sean Greaney, the Brand Manager for World of Darkness, a transmedia entertainment brand that also includes Vampire: The Masquerade, had this to say:

We’re excited to be partnering with Different Tales: their unique brand of narrative adventure storytelling fits the World of Darkness perfectly. The story of Maia helps us experience the richness and complexities of the Garou, and gives us a new perspective on their long, savage struggle to protect the world from natural and supernatural disaster.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest launches for Windows, macOS and Linux on Steam and GOG sometime in Q4 2020. Stay tuned to RPGFan as we learn more!
