Last year, beloved actor Rutger Hauer (known for his iconic performance in Blade Runner, and many more) passed away at the age of 75. One of his last performances as an actor was in Bloober Team’s psychological horror title Observer, which is getting a next-generation re-release titled Observer: System Redux.

In tribute to Mr. Hauer, Bloober Team has released part of an interview they had recorded with him during the development of the original Observer back in 2017. You can watch it down below.

Piotr Babineo, Bloober Team’s CEO, commented: “Rutger was a good friend and will be missed. It was hard hearing him and knowing that he is not with us, but in a way, being able to share his voice again felt special. This interview really shows the depth of passion he had in his role as Dan — he was a wonderful person, and we’re deeply sorry that he passed.” Babineo also stated that his team were huge fans of Rutger Hauer’s work, and encouraged fans to look for a reference to his performance as Roy from Blade Runner.
