Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny Schools New & Old In Latest Overview Trailer

NIS America has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming sixth entry in the Disgaea franchise, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, focusing on an overview of the series’ many systems. The trailer is led by its eclectic and edgy cast, including a prim and proper zombie hound spouting philosophy, and myriad edgelords. Check it out below!

As seen above, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny centres itself firmly within the strategy RPG genre, where players take turns against their enemies outsmarting and maneuvering heroes to best positions, all in the pursuit of defeating those that oppose them. Disgaea, as a series, prides itself on the ultimate customisation, giving players myriad tools to hone their characters to untold levels of power from different angles, such as allowing players to upgrade items by battling in Item Worlds, leveling up characters beyond the traditional LVL 99 cap, bribing and defeating judges in the Dark Assembly to unlock new content, and more.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny seeks to continue this tradition, bringing new mechanics into the fold, such as a reincarnation mechanic that allows players to reset their character level to 0, but in conjunction with the systems briefly outlined above, surge past their previous limitations and bring bigger, better numbers to the table.

The title will also include user-friendly options, such as a fast forward mode, an auto-battle mode, and a novel addition known as Demonic Intelligence which allows players to program the A.I. of their heroes fighting within auto-battle mode to their exact specifications. NIS America hopes that these additions will help players lukewarm on the commitment the Disgaea series presents to give Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny a try when it arrives on Nintendo Switch this summer.
