Mortal Shell, the dark fantasy soulslike from developer Cold Symmetry, originally released last year and offered a unique spin on the formula popularized by Dark Souls. Now, an Enhanced Edition is available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series of consoles, and you’ll be able to upgrade for free if you bought the game on PS4 and XB1.

“This next-generation upgrade has been crafted in the same spirit as the original – with a painstaking and meticulous attention to detail that our fans expect and deserve,” says Kiron Ramdewar, Head of PC and Console from the game’s publisher Playstack. Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition serves up 4K resolution and 60 FPS gameplay, as well as the unique features afforded by the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

A physical edition of Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition is in the works as well, following the high demand for the PS4 and XB1 version. This edition will come with exclusive reversible cover art, a 140-page art book, and a set of unique art cards. More information on this limited run set will be made available in the near future, so keep an eye on the game’s official website.
