In a recent presentation by Square Enix, game director Tatsuya Kando revealed that NEO: The World Ends With You, the forthcoming sequel to the Nintendo DS classic The World Ends With You, is set three years after the conclusion of the new anime series, which is set to premiere on April 9th. More information about the long-awaited sequel will also be revealed at that date.

The World Ends With You the Animation updates the setting and technology seen in the 2008 original to a more contemporary period, and NEO will be following suit. As someone who is currently playing through the original for the first time, I can’t wait to see what Kando and his team have in store for us.
