Set in a very different 1789 than the one we’re familiar with, Spiders’ Steelrising has players take on the role of Aegis. An automated bodyguard for Marie Antoinette, Aegis is tasked by the queen to fight the artificial machinations of King Louis XVI. His robotic creations are terrorizing the citizenry of Paris as the French Revolution takes a very divergent and harrowing turn in this alternate history.
A new trailer was recently released called “Uprising” that aptly sets the tone for the game. You can watch the trailer below:
While no screenshots have been released so far, here’s some artwork that nicely displays the game’s atmosphere.
After being pleasantly surprised by Spiders’ 2019 title Greedfall, I’m quite intrigued by the setting and concept behind Streelrising. The game will be releasing on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2022. Hopefully more of those consoles will be made readily available by that time!
