Mary Skelter Finale Hurtles Towards September Release in the US

A view of your party members in Mary Skelter Finale

Idea Factory Online Summer Festival just happened! To be honest, we completely missed it even happened. Luckily, we can bring you all of the scoops from the well-established developers of Neptunia fame. And there’s been a real bevy this year.

One of the biggest announcements at this year’s showcase was a Western release date for the final game in the dungeon crawling Mary Skelter series. Mary Skelter Finale will launch on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 30th in the States, while Europe will get it the next day, October 1st. (Psst, that’s pretty near my birthday. Although I haven’t even played the first two yet.)

Here’s a little teaser of what to expect in the conclusion of this pink-and-bloody anime horror:

Mary Skelter: Nightmares and its sequel were both surprise hits and stood out from the rest of Idea Factory’s output for their horror twist. This final game looks to conclude the story of The Jail, so if you’ve played the first two games, I’m sure you’re itching for this third and final entry.

I just hope those new monsters in the teaser, including the one with the giant scissors, don’t prove too much of an issue.

Don’t forget, you can wishlist both the Standard and Limited Edition of the game on IFI’s Online Store. The Limited Edition comes with a bounty of goods, including:

  • Mary Skelter Finale Game
  • Collector’s Box
  • Steel Game Case
  • Official Hardcover Art Book
  • 3 Disc OST (Includes tracks from the entire Mary Skelter trilogy!)
  • Hardcover Novel Box Set (Includes 3 novels!)
  • Exclusive Trading Card

Pre-orders don’t open until September 1st — which, as I write this, really isn’t that far away — but regardless of what version you order from the iffy store (check that url), you’ll get an exclusive Online Store trading card.

Mary Skelter Finale, from what we’ve seen so far, looks just as promising as the first two games did. We don’t have much longer to wait and see if it’ll live up to fan’s expectations, and we’ll be sure to let you know what we’re thinking as we approach September 30th!
