Tails of Iron Showcases Its Gruesome Combat In New Gameplay Trailer

Redgi, the rat prince protagonist of Tails of Iron, stands atop a defeated frog with a long sword at the their throat.

United Label and Odd Bug Studio have released a new gameplay trailer for Tails of Iron, their upcoming action RPG centred on the dangerous journey of Redgi, a rat-prince set on reclaiming his kingdom and crown. The trailer focuses primarily on the combat systems within Tails of Iron, showcasing the suite of weaponry and abilities that players will have access to during their playtime. Check it out below!

As seen above, Tails of Iron takes its inspiration from the Souls-like genre with staple mechanics such as dodge rolls, parry, and riposte mechanics at Redgi’s disposal against the Frog Clan, the primary antagonists of Tails of Iron. Odd Bug Studios highlights boss battles as an imperative part of the game’s experience, stating that the heads of the Frog Clan “…will present their own unique combat challenge…” and that players will need to “…observe their individual movesets and react accordingly…”, to win, performing brutal executions at the moment of victory.

Tails of Iron centres on the story of Redgi, a rat prince set on reclaiming his birthright: the Rat Throne. To accomplish this, he will assemble a band of loyal comrades and journey across six distinct biomes, to seek out the generals of the Frog Clan to combat and kill. The story of Tails of Iron will be narrated by Doug Cockle, famous for his raspy vocals within the Witcher series as Geralt of Rivia.

Tails of Iron looks like it could deliver on something special (especially for this fan of both the Redwall book series and gritty storytelling) when it launches on September 17th, 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam.
