The long-running Rune Factory series turned 15 this year on August 24th, having originally come out all the way back in 2006. In celebration, XSEED Games released a video overview of the series since its inception as a spinoff of Story of Seasons (formerly Harvest Moon) on the Nintendo DS.

Developer Neverland (and now Hakama) envisioned Rune Factory as a more adventure-focused take on the farming sim, with creator Yoshifumi Hashimoto once saying “[it’s] Harvest Moon where you wield a sword.” It has since garnered a loyal following, with Rune Factory 5 released in Japan in May of this year, with North American and PAL releases slated for early 2022.
