The Great RPGFan Hiring Drive: Autumn 2021 Edition

RPGFan Hiring Drive

Update 11/14/21: We have closed our applications for this season. If you applied, keep an eye on your inbox in the next couple weeks for our response! We thank everyone who applied this season and hope to be welcoming some new faces soon.

It’s that time again, readers. Fall is here, or autumn if you want to sound fancier. Our team at RPGFan is strong, but with ever more RPG and RPG-adjacent games to cover, we need more hands! And if your hands want to write about things for RPGFan, now is the time to let us know.

This time around, we are focused on finding people for our RPGFan Music, News, and Social Media departments. You’ll find a short description and link to applications for each below. If any of these areas interest you, we look forward to hearing from you!

Please note that all applications will remain open until November 12th, 2021 at 11:59pm EST. After that date, we will be reviewing and contacting applicants. Depending on the volume that we receive, it may take some time to hear back from us, but we will do our best to review them as soon as time allows.

REMINDER: As outlined in every application and on our Work With Us page, RPGFan is run by volunteers, and no financial compensation will be provided. Please keep this in mind if you choose to apply.

RPGFan Music

RPGFan Music is dear to many of us, myself included. What our music teams have built over the years is an unprecedented compendium of RPG/adventure/visual novel music reviews. Add features, interviews, and our Rhythm Encounter podcast, and we have a lot to be proud of.

That said, our minimal music staff means we have a major need for musically-minded RPG fans. More info is in the application, but we want people to not only write album reviews, but also music news, and to be part of music features. We know there are many of you out there who love RPG music like we do, and we want to hear from you.

If there’s one thing more frequent than new game and music releases, it’s news. There is a constant flow of RPG news out there. We’ve recently added a few people to the News team, but since game companies want to keep making more games (!?), we can always use even more help.

Also, if you have Japanese knowledge and a familiarity with Japanese game news sites, well, it’s not at all required, but would certainly be a boon, so please get in touch with us!

Social Media

Our social media team is also always in need of additional people to share links and come up with engaging posts. If you have a keen social sense and want to promote RPGFan’s content on social media along with creating unique, engaging posts and discussions, let’s chat.

General Applications/Staff and Feature Writers

If you want to do something unrelated to all of the above positions, we’re posting our general application as well. We constantly have a running list of potential features and articles at RPGFan, so if that kind of writing is what you’ve got a hankering for, this is the application you want.

Applications are now closed!

Once again, all applications will remain open until November 12th, 2021 at 11:59pm EST, so please keep this cutoff date in mind. We look forward to hearing from you!
