Aksys Announces Mon-Yu And More At Live Showcase

Aksys Games held their All Aksys Showcase on February 17th, 2022, and we got information on a new dungeon crawler by Experience, as well as release dates for several titles. Here’s a summary of everything featured that RPGFan covers.

  • Variable Barricade will release this week, on February 24th, 2022.
  • Piofiore: Episodio 126, Lover Pretend, and Paradigm Paradox have a release window of Fall 2022. The former will be getting an exclusive limited edition, featuring a full-color artbook, 3-inch keychain of all the love interests, collectible 1-inch lily enamel pin, and a 16×22 full-color cloth poster. This set is currently available for preorder from the Aksys Games website.
  • Kimi wa Yukima ni Koinegau is coming in 2023.
  • A new Experience-developed dungeon crawler RPG is coming to the West in 2023, which Aksys is currently calling Mon-Yu, though they say that is not the final name. The full Japanese title is Monster wo Taoshite Tsuyoi Ken ya Yoroi wo Te ni Shinasai: Yuusha Tai ga Maou wo Taosu Sono Hi wo Shinjiteimasu, so you can see why Aksys is using Mon-Yu as shorthand. Check out the trailer below.

All in all, an exciting batch of announcements. Per stream presenter Sami Nash, Mon-Yu‘s title translates roughly to “Defeat Monsters to Get Strong Swords and Armor. Even If You Die, Fight and Become Stronger. We Believe in the Day the Heroes Will Defeat the Demon Lord,” which is incredible, but I’m definitely hoping for a much more succinct title. Keep up with RPGFan for more updates on these games as they come!
