It’s an exciting week for Pokémon fans across the globe as The Pokémon Company gears up to celebrate the franchises anniversary.
Pokémon Turns 26
Pokémon Red & Green first released in Japan on February 27th, 1996, marking the start of one of the most successful and beloved multimedia franchises of all time. This Sunday it will be exactly twenty six years since the titles released, and as always The Pokémon Company have lots planned to celebrate the franchise’s anniversary.
The Pokémon Company invites trainers from around the world to join them in celebrating Pokémon Day. Fans can expect news and events in the lead up to the day, that being this Sunday. All updates will be revealed globally via Pokémon‘s multitude of social media channels, and fans are encouraged to join in the celebration using #PokemonDay across all social media platforms. Another way fans can get involved is to check their regions’ TV stations and streaming services for Pokémon Day related content such as beloved episodes of the long running Pokémon anime series. Curated collections of episodes and movies have also been made available for free on Pokémon TV.

The Pokémon Center Will Receive New Merchandise
Fans can also expect a variety of new products to be made available across the Pokémon Center US, Canada and UK stores. The roll out begins with the launch of two new limited edition Pokémon Bear Walker skateboards featuring Mew and Gyarados.
