The PlayStation 5 version of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana launches on November 15th in North America. Europe gets it on November 18th, and Oceania on November 25th. Here’s a new trailer, and is it just me, or is it immediately obvious how much crisper the visuals and frame rate are?

When Adol awakens shipwrecked and stranded on a cursed island, he and the other shipwrecked passengers form a village in order to survive and seek a way off the isle. Amidst this, Adol begins to dream of a mysterious blue-haired maiden… Who is she and what secrets does she hold?

We have three reviews across three different platforms to look through: the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PS Vita versions. The inimitable Patrick Gann gave his assessment of the soundtrack some time ago. (NIS America shared a short music clip to go along with the trailer, incidentally.) Finally, check our Ys series primer for a deeper dive into Adol’s adventures.
