Atlus has teamed up with Pandasaurus, a board and card game publisher based in Texas, to create a card-based strategy game based on Persona 5 Royal. The project is set to release in October of next year!

The game will be designed by Emerson Matsuuchi, who has previously designed games such as Reef, Foundations of Rome, and Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game.

Following the announcement, Matsuuchi gave some very brief information about the game:

Players will take on the roles of their favorite Phantom Thieves and fight to change the world in this cooperative card-based strategy game.

We know very little about how the game will play at the time of writing, but Nathan McNair, the co-owner of Pandasaurus Games, did say that the game will be coming to “tabletops everywhere” so it seems like the game will incorporate elements from that style of game.

The Persona 5 Royal card game is set to release on October 21st, 2023. For future news on this interesting project, as well as general news on the Persona series, make sure to keep an eye on RPGFan’s news feed.
