Meet Iono, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Electric-Type Gym Leader

The Pokémon Company International has introduced the world to Iono, one of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet‘s Gym Leaders—one that specializes in Electric-types! Alongside her duties at Levenica Gym, Iono is an influencer and streamer that brings dreams to the masses.

Iono is the third Gym Leader of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet to be revealed, following the Ice-type enthusiast Grusha and Brassius, who favors Grass.

Who’s That Pokémon?

Well, we actually have no idea! For Iono’s reveal stream, viewers were asked to guess the Gym Leader’s partner Pokémon.

As part of the guessing game, Pokémon fans worldwide were allowed to write in with questions to help them narrow the options down. These questions provided clues to the creature’s identity:

• What does it feel like? – “Squishy! Squishy-squishy!”
• Is it fast or slow? – “People think it’s a little sluggish with an easygoin’ vibe.”
• What’s it look like? – “It’s got two big ol’ bumps on its noggin that people always mistake for eyes.”
• What type is it? – “ELECTRIC, of course!”

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet‘s newest Gym Leader also revealed that the Pokémon’s body expands and contracts to generate electricity in its belly.

To conclude the most difficult “Who’s That Pokémon” to date, Iono then encouraged viewers to leave their guesses in the comments before her next stream.
