Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters Rated for PS4 and Nintendo Switch by ESRB

Final Fantasy: Pixel Remaster Logos

Updated listings for the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters have appeared on the ESRB, hinting that the complete set could be heading to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch shortly. [Editor’s Note: Finally!]

Following their announcement at E3 2021, the Pixel Remasters have slowly been released on Android, IOS, and PC via Steam. The rollout began with the original Final Fantasy in August of 2021 and finished with Final Fantasy VI in February of this year. Now that the re-release of these classic RPGs has come to a close, it would make sense that Square Enix would look to release them elsewhere.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster – E3 Trailer

The games that inspired a generation come to life once more, in the ultimate 2D pixel remaster.

While the ratings don’t confirm that the titles are heading to console, it seems unlikely that Square Enix would go through all the trouble of having the games rated if that weren’t the case. Hopefully, this means that an announcement isn’t far off! [Editor’s Note: Finally!]

The only unfortunate takeaway from this news is that Xbox consoles are not listed in the updated rating, so it seems that the platform will once again be missing out on the latest Final Fantasy release.
