Square Enix to Patch Chrono Cross Remaster Frame Rate, Bugs

After over a year since its initial release on various platforms, Square Enix has issued a message stating that Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition will receive an update this month. The upcoming patch promises frame rate enhancements, adjustments to Pip’s growth system, bug fixes, and more.

Here’s the official announcement from the official Chrono Cross Twitter account:

The update doesn’t have an exact release date, but Chrono Cross fans should expect it to arrive before February ends. I purchased the physical version last year, and I must confess that the framerate problems with the Switch version are bearable but rather noticeable. Meanwhile, the PC (Steam) version has received more mixed feedback from players who raised concerns regarding “extremely low frame rates.”

Fingers crossed that the upcoming update addresses all of the issues we mentioned in our remaster review since the game deserves that kind of treatment. It’s not too late yet to hop back and continue my journey at El Nido.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Stay tuned to RPGFan for all the most recent information about the Chrono series.
