Vanillaware 20th Anniversary Events to Take Place in March, April

Vanillaware 20th Anniversary Artwork

Vanillaware, the developer behind popular titles such as 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Odin Sphere, has announced its plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Two events will occur in Japan—the first on March 25th and 26th in Tokyo and the second on April 1st and 2nd in Osaka.

Fans attending the festivities will be treated to a first look at items such as a new illustration drawn by Yukiko Hirai, one of Vanillaware’s best-known art designers. Alongside this exciting reveal, pre-orders for merch based on the company’s past games will also be available.

It’s not surprising that the celebrations are only taking place in Japan, but it’s a shame nonetheless. While I can’t provide you with the same experience, I can, at the very least, highlight some of my favorite Vanillaware art below.

Enjoy!

Congratulations to Vanillaware on hitting the 20-year mark. They’ve released some bangers over the years with titles such as Odin Sphere, Muramasa, Dragon’s Crown, and 13 Sentinels. Let’s hope the company’s future is just as bright as its past.
