If you’ve been counting down the days until the launch of Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord, well, all I can say is color me impressed, because we didn’t have an exact release date until now – April 25th for PS4, PS5, and Switch, and May 23rd for PC via Steam.

That one-month Steam delay is a bit of a bummer, but at least it’s not a huge wait. We’ve got the game’s fancy opening movie to share with you in the meantime.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord‘s limited edition, you’ll want to visit publisher Idea Factory International’s online storefronts, as it’s available exclusively through there. Note that there are two sites – one for North American purchasers, and the other for Europeans! Isn’t it cute that IFI’s regional logos are the same, except the latter has ‘European’ written in cute green ink? As an American, I’m weirdly jealous of this.

Here’s what comes packed with the limited edition, by the way, all of which you can see in the image just below said list:

  • Steel Game Case
  • Hardcover Art Book (Includes short story “The Fairyologist’s Lazy Day Off”)
  • Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord Original Soundtrack
  • Music Book
  • Collector’s Box
  • Exclusive Trading Card

“Art not final,” you don’t say…

Last but not least, here’s a thorough overview of Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord in case you’re just tuning in to this next big title from Compile Heart.

Long ago, the people were given knowledge by the Goddess, and civilization flourished.
They built towers stretching toward the heavens, and a weapon so powerful, they could pierce the gods themselves.

However, that civilization was decimated shortly after a violent conflict between the Goddess and the Vile God.

Ages have passed since then.

Our story begins with a young man named Fang who had become a Fencer,
a swordsman who has the ability to wield a special weapon imbued with a Fairy known as a Fury.
Along with his companions, Fang is on a journey to find the Furies, and resurrect the Goddess.

One day, he encounters a woman who can save people with her song,
and another who can brainwash people with her song.

Along with the mysterious power of the women who call themselves Muses, Fang’s destiny begins to unfold…
